Fairy Opal
Rough Fairy Opal untreated looks similar to sandstone and sometimes is difficult
see the colour.
The rough Fairy Opal is then placed
in a mixture of sugar and water. This
process helps darken the opal while keeping the natural colour.
The treated Opal is then wrapped
in some aluminum and cooked
over the fire.
The Fairy Opal is then shaped and polished to size showing a beautiful end result.
